2009 Anchorages

  WHERE ARE WE?
July 18-21, 2009 -- Northeast Anchorage in the Bustards

This time we made it out into Georgian Bay and had a nice sail up to the Bustards. The Northeast Anchorage is real easy to get into, has fair to middleing holding and is a favorite stop for people heading up from Midland and Parry Sound to the North Channel (it´s about half way). For the four nights we were there, there was a constant parade of boats coming and going. One night we had 10 sailboats anchored in a row and on the next night 3 powerboats rafted up to shore. We met lots of people as they passed through.

We also kayaked, dinghied and fished (caught some too). The highlight of the trip was meeting a marvelous Lady who owned one of the cottages on one of the islands in the Bustards. She invited us up for drinks and a wonderful conversation about the Bustards and her time spent there (both the good times and the bad).
