  WHERE ARE WE?
July 16-17, 2009 -- Kilcoursie Bay, Kilbear Provincial Park

We reluctantly left Massasauga Provincial Park and thought we would find our way through the rocks to Georgian Bay and sail north. We did; but we didn´t. We made our way out, but the winds were blowing and the waves rolling so we backtracked to the small-craft route and took the semi-outer but protected route (no bridges or narrow channels) to Parry Sound.

Kilcoursie Bay is a well protected bay close to Georgian Bay and right off one of Kilbear Provincial Park´s campgrounds and a beautiful sand beach. If you pay the boaters fee ($13.00, which we did) when you go ashore, you can use the campground´s flush toilettes (nirvana), garbage cans, showers, washers and dryers, etc, Supposedly, there is a nice interpretive center but we ran out of time after a dinghy trip to Huckleberry Island.
