2008 Anchorages

  WHERE ARE WE?
  September 1 - 4, 2008 -- East West Channel, McGregor Bay

Once you get over the intimidation factor of entering McGregor Bay with all of its rocks, it's a pretty trip all the way up to the East West Channel and the Anchorage. Where we were is very well protected and has good holding. With rocky cliffs all around, you couldn't find a better anchorage. There are a lot of cottages in McGregor Bay but none near this anchorage. Our only complaint is it is a long way in and is not one we would want to sail through.
We anchored as far to the west as you can get in the East West Channel and were by ourselves the whole time we were there. There are all sorts of small channels to explore and rocks to climb. A loverly area.
