WHERE ARE WE? |
| |
August 22 - 24, 2008 -- Long Point Cove |
| |
| |
We were able to sail all the way from Moiles to Long Point Cove taking the shortcut between Knight Point and an unnamed island, narrow but deep. Last year when we were here it was quite crowded and we finally left. This year was much better with fewer boats.

Long Point Cove is a well protected harbor with good holding and very scenic. Entry is not all that difficult if you follow the instructions and miss the odd rock sticking up in the center of the passage between two islands. We tested both the holding and the protection. We decided to explore the area and see what changes had occurred since we last visited the North Channel Yacht Club in 1988. We didn't keep our eyes open and a squall line caught us out in the open and couple miles from Toucan. When we returned after the storm, all was well.
