Saturday, July 31, 2004 -- Shanty Bay to South Manitou Island
Our initial plans were to stay in Door County / Green Bay until after Tracey's wedding but after much discussion, we decided not to stay but head for the North Channel. So at 06:30 we upped anchor and headed North through Death's Door once again to South Manitou. The winds were fairly heavy but we were running the whole way. This is the way to go cruising. When we got to South Manitou, we ended up sharing our anchorage with only 3 sailboats and one mega yacht (who provided the harbor entertainment by attempting to anchor 5 times before it finally took). While we were here we made reservation at St Ignace using the new (to us) Michigan reservation system.
