This time we did get an early start for us and made it through San Antonio with little problem and rather than taking I-10 like AAA said, we took 90 west toward Del Rio, a much more picturesque drive. We got to Amistad Reservoir, where Mexico and the United States worked together to dam the Rio Grande and Diablo rivers -- crystal clear water in the middle of sagebrush. We stopped at the park visitor center; Craig made a fast sharp turn into the Park visitor center scaring the bejeebers out of Day, watched a movie, and went on to pitch camp at Seminole Canyon State Park. Named for the canyon leading to the Rio Grande River.

That night, a guy came around and invited everyone to a campfire at his site. It was fun listening to the stories about RVing in Alaska, and around the country. Toward the end, Craig asked the guy sitting next to him where he was from. When Craig found out was El Dorado, Kansas, he told Day. It turned out he knows Day's cousin, Larry Patton -- who lives in El Dorado and knew Chad, Day's uncle. Then another couple chimed in and said they lived in Andover, Kansas. She knew another one of Day's cousins (Tad -- Larry's brother) and in fact worked for him for a short time and their children played football together. This world is too small.
