Friday, February 16, 2007 Because we had made our reservations a little late we had one night at a full hookup site, a second night in the overflow site (nice but no hookups) and then our last two nights back at a full hookup site. We had to be out of the full hookup site by 12:00 so we went ahead and moved Irv to the dry camping area before we left. All we had to do was park Irv between 2 orange cones and leave -- no hook-ups. Then on to the Miami Boat Show. Halfway to the show, Craig asked Day if she know where we were going. No, she thought he did. Never the less we found our way to the Miami Beach convention center -- lot full. We headed north, farther and farther away from the show, finding several more lots that were also full. Finally we found an empty lot. It was a far piece from the show but they were running free buses back to the convention center. After taking the bus back to the convention center, we waited in a long line to get tickets to get into the show; walked 5 blocks through small powerboats and booths only to catch a bus back across the causeway, retracing our path only in very heavy traffic, back to Miami and to the Strictly Sail - arriving two hours after we unknowingly passed the very same spot on the way in to the Miami Beach Convention Center. Next time we'll check the directions. We did the Strictly Sail Show in one day; (Craig looked at Catamarans!!! From South Africa, Australia and France! Surprising Day no end.) Since the in the water part of the show closed at 18:00 we also visited some of the booths in the convention center before our feet betrayed us. After a short ride back to the car, we found Day's homeward navigation was just as lacking as the morning's navigation to the show. She told Craig about a turn so late that Craig couldn't make it and we missed the causeway back to Miami. However, we did see the Mega Yachts as we were going the wrong way. Eventually she got us where we needed to be.
