It was a short trip from Big Cypress to our reserved campsite in Miami, so we took our time. On the way across the Everglades we found another National Park Site (Shark Valley) but on the way in Craig saw that we would have to pay. Being cheap, he was going to turn around, but Day "suggested" that he continue on and check on the price. Glory be, he learned that the Senior passport he bought waived all entry fees -- in we went and we spent an hour or so bird watching.

We then found and checked into Larry and Penny Thompson County Campground at 11:45. Enterprise Rent-a-Car picked us up a short time later and took us to our cute little yellow rental car (an Aveo). Now with a car, we had nothing to do, so we went back to the Everglades. With Craig's new Senior passport, we planned on saving on the entrance fee ("or would have had there been somebody manning the booth"). There wasn't so we didn't. The Everglades haven't changed much since we were there last. Kim's alligator was still there -- we got pictures. We also learned that Anhingas and Cormorants are different -- both were at the park.
