A more reasonable start this day but we did nothing but drive straight through and stop earlier (it was warmer). An interesting drive along a county road to the reservoir and then a hard left (Day was driving) to find Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park in the dark. It was fortunate that we had called for reservations (20 minutes before they closed) as we arrived at the park way after dark. We had learned in Toucan to never, ever approach a strange anchorage at night; but in Irv it wasn't supposed to be a problem, just pull up to the camp host and camp. However you first have to find the campground. Luck was with us. While we were trying to read the map on the ranger's cabin with a flashlight, the park ranger came out and asked what we were doing, directed us to the campground and told us to take any empty site and pay in the morning. Craig took over the driving and pulled into the first spot we came to. We found that an RV is easier to park and set up in the dark that a boat and faster than putting up a tent.
